Donation Governorships Christ’s Hospital has a long and proud history of supporting disadvantaged children through our Donation Governorship programme. We continue to do so through the outstanding generosity of the many individuals, groups, Foundations and Livery Companies who share our vision of enabling children from all corners of society to be educated at our school. To become a Donation Governor, an individual, organisation or Livery Company must show a serious commitment to Christ’s Hospital by making an unconditional qualifying donation. The school works with Donation Governors to identify a student for them to support, known as a Presentee – and the Donation Governor is elected to the Court of Governors. The Court of Governors is an historic body that meets twice a year, once in June at Horsham and the other in London in January. Donation Governors are also invited to other ceremonial events such as the Spital Sermon and the St Matthew’s Day service in the City of London. Donation Governors can play a significant role in the mentoring and support of the Presentee and their family. This can be an extremely rewarding aspect of the role and lifelong relationships are often formed. For more information on becoming a Donation Governor contact the Development Office at seb@christ’s-hospital.org.uk or on 01403 247588.
