Thriving at Christ's Hospital and aspiring to become a computer engineer, Daniel was House Captain, has taken part in numerous sports, achieved independence and responsibility, and been appointed as a school monitor.

'My outlook on life before I joined Christ's Hospital was narrow, I didn’t know much about anything except studies and rarely talked to people I didn’t already know. Now I’ve learnt to step out of my comfort zone and embrace the unfamiliar.

A CH Family

Since joining Christ's Hospital, I have got to know so many people and through them, I’ve learned about perspectives on life and stories that I may never have encountered. It is a beautiful thing to make friends and Christ’s Hospital taught me how.'

'I have a boarding house family in which I’ve laughed with countless times. The support from matrons and house parents has been invaluable. Whether late at night or early morning, they are always available and there for me - something I never expected from a school. I have learnt to carry myself with independence and take responsibility for my own learning, building the self-discipline I need.  Being relied upon by staff as an intermediary for the boys in my boarding house helped me develop a strong sense of responsibility.

Opportunities

Trying new sports that I would never have experienced had I not come to Christ's Hospital, is something I now take for granted and having access to the music school made it easy for me to learn piano at my own pace and do things that I enjoy while still pushing myself.

Passing up an opportunity to try is terrible, if I have the chance to try hard at something that may seem interesting, I will. The opportunity to participate in the annual UK Maths Trust (UKMT) challenge, to challenge myself and see how I rank nationally, gave me a strong sense of confidence in my mathematical ability. The competitive homegrown classroom environments kept me sharp.

Future Aspirations

Looking to the future, I hope to accomplish all the goals I set for myself, freely studying topics that interest me, creating and working on my own projects and finally experiencing as many different things as I can. I plan to become a computer engineer and I know that path has many difficulties to overcome but I’m excited and ready for it.'
