Abigail has grown into a confident Second Monitor, who is making a difference and inspiring others. She has grasped the opportunities available to her at Christ's Hospital and is looking forward to taking her skills onto study economics at university.

‘When I found out that I had been offered a place at Christ’s Hospital, I was surprised because I had little faith in myself, but the cheering and singing from my mum made me feel extremely proud to get this opportunity.'

Opportunity

'A bursary at CH has enabled me to Grow. There is so much available and lots of support. Whether it’s sports, music or academics, Christ’s Hospital has given me opportunities in which I can push my boundaries and discover my potential.'

'Without a bursary, I may not have had access to such a wealth of experiences that have shaped me into who I am today. From performing at incredible venues, such as the Royal Albert Hall and St Paul’s Cathedral with the Gospel Choir, to sports achievements and leading initiatives, CH has given me the chance to develop confidence and leadership. My bursary has not only opened doors—it has given me the confidence to step through them, ensuring that I leave CH with the skills, knowledge, and ambition to continue to strive for excellence.'

Leadership

'My role as House captain boosted my leadership skills, as I was shy at first, but now confident in myself through the skills I’ve gained. Becoming Second Monitor has made me grateful for all that I have and I am so happy to have a platform to make a difference and inspire others.'

Achievements

'One of my biggest achievements since joining Christ's Hospital is becoming Director of the Gospel Choir. It has fuelled a hidden creative passion within me, allowing me to explore and elaborate on ideas. A trip to Chichester with the Gospel Choir is a fond memory. It was a true reward to sing, inspire others and bring them closer to God in our own special way.'

'I am very grateful to have the opportunity to take part in tennis, hockey and netball. Sport brings me endless joy from, playing for my teams, being chosen as captain and breaking county records in my age group for athletics.'

Fond Memories

'The school residential where I met my now best friend was a pivotal moment and I thank CH for finding lifelong friendships. The last night in my avenue house, singing, conversing and eating together as a year group with all the tutors, will stay a very sentimental memory.'

Future Aspirations

'Going forward, I plan to continue music and go onto university to study Economics. Christ’s Hospital helped me find my interest in economics along with the platform to elaborate and expand on creative ideas.'

Supporting Christ's Hospital

I ask donors to continue supporting CH, because there are more students who, like me, might never have imagined having access to such a life-changing opportunity. Their generosity doesn’t just provide an education; it creates futures, builds confidence and unlocks potential that might never be realised. I thank them for believing in me, for giving me the chance to grow, lead, and aspire to do more. Their support truly transforms lives, and I want them to know the profound and lasting impact they have on every student who walks through CH’s doors.’
