On 28 September, Old Blues and CH Staff will be taking on the Barns Green 10K, raising funds for Christ’s Hospital’s Mental Health Programme.

The programme is at the heart of the school’s pastoral care. The specialist team includes one full-time and three part-time therapists, who work closely with the wider pastoral network, including House Parents, Matrons, the Medical Centre team, Safeguarding staff, and Deputy Heads.

Thanks to generous fundraising support, the team has grown from two part-time roles with long waiting lists to a service where pupils can access therapy within 4 to 6 weeks, compared to the typical two-year NHS wait, effectively eliminating waiting lists at CH. Over the past year, the team has also trained House Parents, Matrons, and senior pupils in mental health first aid and in understanding how to support friends facing challenges.

In the last year, many pupils have benefited from therapeutic support for a range of mental health and wellbeing challenges. The programme has helped students navigate difficult experiences, recover from trauma, and fully engage in school life.

Our Old Blues are running not only for the challenge but also to ensure that every CH student has access to the support they need to thrive.

You can support their efforts by cheering them on, sharing their journey, or making a donation. Every contribution helps the school continue this vital work.
