On Saturday, 16 November, Christ’s Hospital hosted a special event to honour the historic relationship with the Worshipful Company of Cooks and express gratitude for their sponsorship of a recent food and nutrition trip

This year marks a significant milestone for the Worshipful Company of Cooks as they celebrate the 350th anniversary of the reading of Liveryman John Phillips’ will. In his will, Phillips bequeathed land to the Cooks to ensure the perpetual presentation of two students to Christ’s Hospital.

As part of the celebrations, the Cooks were honoured with a newly installed plaque at Christ’s Hospital, commemorating the enduring bond between them and the school.

The food and nutrition trip

The exciting trip, funded by the Cooks, took Christ's Hospital food and nutrition students to Naples, Italy, where they explored a working buffalo farm, discovered the art of making mozzarella, pasta, and olive oil, and mastered the craft of creating wood-fired pizza. The experience provided invaluable inspiration and insights to enrich their studies.
